Natalie Ginsburg is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Community Roots Charter School in Brooklyn, New York, a Roots ConnectED learning site. Since 2015, Natalie has been a part of the social work team, where she provides individual and small group counseling to students, supervises social work master's degree students, facilitates family workshops, and collaborates closely with teachers and families. She is a member of the Anti-Bias Education Collective (ABC), a staff leadership initiative focused on implementing anti-bias curriculum and staff professional development. Additionally, she has completed restorative practices training through the International Institute for Restorative Practices. Prior to becoming a social worker, Natalie taught 3rd and 6th grade in both rural and urban public schools. She has been an advocate and volunteer with Parole Preparation Project for five years, supporting individuals who are incarcerated prepare for their parole Board interviews. Natalie has served as a Teaching Associate for research and practice courses at Columbia University’s School of Social Work. She has been a workshop facilitator with Roots ConnectED since 2018 and believes in schools that help kids understand how their identities impact their experiences from an early an age.
