Michelle McCree-Harrison has served as an educator since 2011. Along with her classroom experience she has experience as a community organizer working to elevate the voices of educators in policies that affect their classrooms. She spent 6 years of her instructional career, as a teacher leader with Community Roots Charter School in Brooklyn, New York, a Roots ConnectED learning site. There she also served as a member of the Anti-Bias Education Collective (ABC) where she worked in a peer collaborative environment to facilitate anti-bias education workshops for staff and families. She has been a coach for Roots ConnectED since 2018 and currently serves as our Strategy Developer and Program Facilitator. As the Strategy Developer at RC, Michelle is responsible for managing our data collection and reflection as well as building new partnerships and opportunities to share our work. Her work allows for us to learn from our current impact and grow in a meaningful way. As a Program Facilitator with RC, Michelle manages our family programming, resource page and is an active coach and facilitator within our programming. Michelle sees herself as a lifelong learner committed to helping all students gain access to inclusive classrooms where they can thrive. She has a BA from Duke University and an MEd in Progressive Leadership from Bank Street College of Education.
