Melanie Mahanna
Melanie Mahanna has been working in public education since 2009. After graduating from Syracuse University with a degree in Inclusive Education, Melanie moved to Brooklyn where she became one of the founding staff members, teaching 4th grade, at Community Roots, a Roots ConnectED learning site. The following year, she co-founded and opened the 5th grade, where she taught and has continued to be connected to for years.
Melanie believes strongly in fostering community through inclusive practices and building spaces where students and teachers feel connected, respected, seen, and empowered to grow and learn. She is thrilled to join the Roots ConnectED team and support in building those spaces for students and faculty.
