Jillian Morgan
Jillian Morgan is a licensed clinical social worker working as the Director of Community and Wellness at Mediabrands, a global company spanning 13,000 employees. In this role she works closely with DEI teams and employees to enhance psychological safety, well being, and a sense of belonging for staff. She also works as a private therapist. Prior to this role, Jillian worked as the middle school social worker and sexual health educator at Community Roots Middle School, a Roots ConnectED learning site, since 2013. During her time at Community Roots, Jillian co-wrote the curriculum for the 8th grade Sexual Health and Relationships elective as well as advisory lessons centered on sexual health and decision making for younger middle school grades, intentionally working to make this curriculum inclusive of all identities, anatomy variation and relationship types. She was a member of the Anti-Bias Education Collective (ABC), a staff leadership initiative focused on implementing anti-bias curriculum and staff professional development which strives to build connections with school staff through sharing and examining one's own experiences, identities and biases. Additionally, she has completed restorative practices training through the International Institute for Restorative Practices.
Jillian's work stems from the notion that we are born worthy of love and care and naturally equipped with the tools to heal from within. She believes that when we are seen, valued, and truly heard, we can process our challenges, trauma, and grief for the internal and external change we are seeking. She is steadfast in working towards healing and social justice within community, normalizing mental health experiences, and collaborating with others to connect, grow and thrive. She joins Roots ConnectED with the hope to support school leaders, teachers and educational professionals in creating brave spaces and communities that center equity and justice.
