Eden Hai Turner has been an educator at Community Roots in Brooklyn, New York, a Roots ConnectED learning site, since 2014, where she teaches 3rd grade and has focused on developing and revising curriculum. In addition to her role as a classroom teacher, Eden serves as a member of the Inclusive Practices Group (IPG) at Community Roots where she facilitates professional development to support staff in planning for learner variability in classrooms. As an educational coach and workshop facilitator for Roots ConnectED, she supports educators and school leaders across the country in adopting an inclusive model of education and utilizing the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework to meet the needs of all variable learners in a community. Eden believes that by planning for learner variability we can create a sense of belonging for all students, which empowers all students to take responsibility for their own learning.
